Traffic to the Toledo Show could be really nasty.
« on: April 07, 2015, 04:11:33 PM »
Hi All.  I spent quite a bit of time researching the road construction around Toledo and suddenly realized a lot of you out of town folks should have access to the information, too, before you head this way!
When spring is sprung in the Budkeye state, folks who own stock in the orange barrel industry make money hand over fist!  I 75 is, and will be for quite soime time,. a local disaster, and it's not the only place.
There are exit ramps closed in places, and all sorts of hazards.
Best bet for you is to call the public relations director for the Ohio Dept of Transportation (ODOT) for this area, which is what I finally ended up doing.  She is eager to help and a good source of information.
The number is 419-353-8131, then ask for Theresa Pollack.  Don't count on a call back if you have to leave a message, just keep calling until she's there.  Trust me, you really should check it out.

Looks like the routes from the north are OK

75-280-25 is how we usually go

Yeah, and actually, mosrt of the hassle is right in Toledo proper with ramp closings.  But the route from Perrysburg to Collingwood on I 75 is baaaadd as I understand.  There are others, but that's a major one.
Jeff Foxworthy says Ohio has four seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction.  He's obviously been here!

I lived, up until age 15, right down the street, about a 10 minute walk, from the Lucas County Fairgrounds, where the show was held back in the 60s and 70s. I spent every second I could at that show. I think the first time I went with my Dad, I has graduated from a Cox PT19 to a Lil' Wizard.
Best Regards,
