We are going to meet at 7:45 and Allen Brickhaus will start the discussion portion at 8:00 and begin flying as soon that is finished. The address of the closest building to the flying circle is:
Isabel's House
2750 W. Bennett
Springfield, MO 65807
All flyer's are required to have current AMA card (the city requires some short of liability coverage) and safety thongs are required. We will fly the critique flights on the main circle (paved) and have a second grass circle for practice flights. In the interest of time we ask the on deck flyer be ready 3 minutes prior to their critique flight (read that as not putting up a practice flight with not enough time to be ready to go). Allen has offered to put the critique flight on a cassette (for a $1 charge) or in a written format.
There are no bathroom facilities at the circle. There is a fire station close we can use or a convenience store approximately a mile south. There are a couple of fast food places a couple of miles east on Sunshine St.
There are several good places to eat a supper meal a short drive from the flying site (Bandanna's, Zios, Ryan's, MCalisters, and so on) we can to as a group for those who would enjoy that.
We don't have any shelters or tables at this time so you'll need to bring some folding chairs. If some want to bring an awning for shade that would be appreciated.
I need a head count of how many plan to attend. Please give me some idea, let me know "yes I'll be there", "maybe I'll make it", or "no I won't be able to make it".
If the weather doesn't cooperate the alternate date will be May 30.
Feel free to call or email me with questions if you need more information. Thanks to everyone ahead of time for bearing with me as this is the first time I have ever planned an event.
