Wow, a whole month!!!
« on: July 06, 2016, 06:20:42 PM »
I know I'm not on here as often, as long, or not as helpful as many are, but by the time I finish this post I will have spent ONE WHOLE MONTH gazing and posting on stunthanger!!!  Thirty days!!
The old adage, "time flies when you're having fun" surely fits here, and I want to thank Robert for developing and sustaining this site.  This was especially helpful during the first weeks after the love of my life for 51 years died of cancer last year.  During the hectic days right after when it got really crazy with the preparations for the funeral, the caring for the legalities, etc, when I needed a sanity break, here was my hiding place.  That was also true during the caretaking months; I could slip away for just a few minutes and slide into here for an escape.
When I look at the 29 days, 23 hours, and 59 minutes, I really am amazed.
Isn't stunthanger one of our greatest escape routes and pleasure spots for we model airplane nuts?  It is for me. y1 H^^

I agree wholeheartedly, Will.
I check almost daily, often a few times a day, for new threads, interesting builds, questions, rants, whatever.
Just a great place to settle the mind, get a grip, learn something new or just have fun with the occasional silliness.
Thanks Sparky and thanks to all who join in to make this the premier spot for all things c/l.

"Good" Will Hinton,

Will, it's really nice to hear from you. Really nice.

Something to keep in mind is it's not just the gadgets, the models, or the questions and replies that makes up the Forum.

It's much more than that. It's greatly the human aspect, that is, the quality of the individual.

You are one of the absolute leaders in individual quality and no one can dispute that.

All your comments have been positive, uplifting and certainly inspiring to say the least.

You are a champion in character and you have certainly inspired me.

The kind of modeler and person others could only wish to be.

Many Blessings Will and I'll be looking forward to reading all of your participation.

Charles

Charles, thank you for your kind words, I simply attempt to model Christ with my life.  I don't always make it, as many would confirm, but your thoughts are both inspiring and humbling.
Be blessed.

Will,  I am glad things are coming around for you.  Don't know what I would do in your circumstances.   Hope to meet you one of these years.  Now when is the new book coming out on new generation of the western family that went through a hard time.

Lately I've had people ask me if I ever get lonely while on road trips by myself or when everyone is gone.  I tell them I'm never alone as I have GOD with me all the time.  No I'm not perfect yet by a long ways.

Hi Doc!  My latest book is now out, but it isn't the western family.  This one is a Christian fiction set in 2023 and I hope I'm NOT a prophet!  It borders on sci-fi, but only borders, mind you, and was a lot of fun to write, even though I worked on it off and on for nearly 15 years!  I used it to break writer's block while writing the westerns.

Robert,

In my case the time is a bit misleading. In many cases I'm away from my PC for many hours at a time but with the Forum open.

I also leave the Forum open at night till morning frequently.

I never shut my PC down.
