Interceptor 25
« on: March 05, 2007, 07:24:42 PM »
Making some good progress here.  Got it primed, sanded, and enameled white.  Weight of the airframe is 490 grams(17.25 oz).  I'm expecting it to come out around 31 oz. with a Brodak 40 on it.  It would fly just fine on a 25, but I couldn't resist trying to overpower a plane like everybody is doing with the big block motors.  So instead of putting a 454 into a Camaro, I'm putting a 289 into a Sunbeam Alpine.
Span 54 in.  Wing area 510  Stab is 120 squares(23%).  Tail moment is about 22.5 in.  with a little Rabe rudder on the back.

I'm still debating the paint.  I'm tempted to use the old aerobatic style red/white/blue scheme.  But the camo scheme, with a strip down the side might work too.  that would have less masking.

I remember that Berkley made an interceptor 15 and 35. Never heard of a 25. Is that your own creation?
