Title: speaking of glue
Post by: peabody on February 02, 2012, 02:59:49 PM
I was gluing some hinges back in the other day and used some of the Pica(?) white aliphatic that I have stashed....in spite of my best efforts, it is drying up...
This glue is a favorite of Brett, I know....
Question: can I thin it a bit?
Question: is there a substitute?

Thanks

I understand that one of the suppliers of musical instrument has a perfect replacement.  It's called Instrument Glue (or some such).

Will Hinton and Ward-O know the skinny on it.

"Formula 560"  by Pacer (same as the old RC 56) plastic canopy glue.  Looks like PVA.  Dries clear and sticks like that stuff to blankets.  Great for gluing hinges in.  Cleans up with water.
