Title: Sparky's SV-100 Horizon's maiden flight
Post by: bill marvel on April 06, 2008, 07:04:03 PM
Robert Storick (AKA Sparky) managed to get in some test flights of his new SV-100 Horizon. Although it was very breezy, Robert managed to get in three flights and started the trimming process. He seemed pleased with his new bird. His pit crew was Gary Hajek and Steve Smith.
If some of you don't recognise the flying field, it is Lafayette Esquadrille's alternate field in Collinsville, Illinois, just across the Mississippi River. Buder Park is still closed.
regards, bill marvel

Looks like a nice site to fly from. Say hi to Gary and Steve for me.

Bob: Congrads on the successful test flights - I'm JEALOUS that you got out to fly and I didn't!
Kudos too for the support crew...

More pics This plane shows promise. I have some more trim work to do. I will be starting on a back up and hope to have it ready for the NATS. If not Tbolt will be my back up plane. Hum I have many to choose from????

Bob,
Have you rented a storage facility to put the planes in or just built a warehouse in the back?

Almost. However I did loose two last year. One to a blown off flap at the top of the hourglass and one in Tulsa where I looked like a beginner with a figure 9 in the wind.

That is still one gorgeous airplane. Glad to hear it is working and you have something to work with. Hope you also have better results in appearance. Later, DOC Holliday

As usual you've built a beautiful model Sparky. The paint scheme is definitely not cookie cutter.
