I have been trying to find the thread(s) where Sparky gives details of him building an Ares. Using the forum search function I've found pictures of his Ares canopy installation in the building tips section but that's all I could find. Does anyone know when the thread was posted or could someone post a link to it? Thanks for any help.

The plane I'm thinking of was a light blue one with dark blue and some other trim. I don't know if this helps but I think that was like 3 or 4 years ago, right around Christmas time. Something like a 21 day build, or even less, from start to finish during a Christmas vacation from his work.

Looked something like this ??? Walter Umland use to have a slide show of the build, maybe contact him and see if he still has it tucked away somewhere.

You should be flying it

Just came from Walter's site and do not see the Ares listed. Haven't checked Bill Sawyer's site yet. Also do a search over on SSW(Stuka Stunt Works). There are some builds over there. H^^

Leester,
Thanks for the pictures. That is the plane I am referring to. I got it from Sparky last year. It has some minor hanger rash damage and I thought it would be helpful to review the construction article/pictures for the types of paint/materials that were used before attempting any repairs.

Sparky,
I would like to fly it. However, I don't currently have a PA .40 Ultralite engine like what was originally installed in the model. It is such a beautiful plane that I don't want to butcher it up by putting in a different engine. Eventually I will get the engine it needs. For now it is safely tucked away in my shop where I can readily admire it H^^.

Doc, I did a SSW search and Walter had a link to the slide show. It is no longer active.
