Southern California Hobby Shops

I am traveling from Northern California to Southern California next week for a little vacation.  Can anyone tell me where some good hobby shops (control line, building suppiles, old school stuff) are in SoCal?  Just a name and a city would be fine.  I have been to Rob's R/C Hobbies and Ulitmate Hobbies.  Looking for something better.

Smith Brothers in Northridge off Reseda Blvd near Cal State Northridge. Lots of Control Line stuff there. There is also a good hobby shop in West Covina near Whittier Narrows. Not as much C/L merchandise as Smith Brothers but still stocks building supplies, fuel, dope and some control line specific items and kits.

Covina Hobbies is on Citrus Avenue about 1.5 miles north of the 10 freeway.  That is at least 15 miles from Whittier Narrows park.  Also Pegasus Hobbies, which I think is in Monrovia.

There is the chain of Hobby People shops.  They have balsa, fuel, glues and hardware.  They have cut down their engine line a lot, but are good for E-power systems.  Check out their website for locations.

Pegasus Hobbies is on Moreno Street in Montclair just east of Central Avenue and runs parallel to the 10 freeway on the north side.

Thanks guys for the advice.  I am going to check out Smith Brothers, Pegasus and Covina Hobbies when I get down there.  It will be a lot of driving but lots of fun!

If you're just out for a drive, I know a hobby shop in Great Falls, MT . . . of course they've never heard of "control line", but still, it might be "lots of fun" driving 

I'm going to check them out today just to see what's what.

Eds Covina Hobby is one of my fondest memories. I would bet I would not reconize it.

Last time I was there , there was a Sterling Waco Cabin with a McCoy 35 Redhead hanging from the ceiling. That was just last summer.

I was at Covina about 6 months ago... has not changed much in terms of layout and it still feels like Ed's... but his son's are now running it and they are bigger into RC cars/trucks. Used to have a fair selection of CL kits... not so much these days. Ed's boys were into the Real Estate business, when the economy turn sour and their dad needed help they stepped up. We're probably lucky to have them at all...  I buy what I can there just to keep them around.

Footnote: Ed (and his wife) & I are were HS alumni. He was class of '42 I believe and I was class of '80, Chaffey HS, Ontario, CA, he kept a scrap book under the counter and would pull it out from time to time... miss that guy...
