Hi Everyone I'm relocating to Easley Sc and I am wondering if there are any active control line flyers in or around the Easley area?
Thanks

Vinnie, feel free to get in touch with me, Rusty Knowlton.
I live in Columbia and a couple of us fly CL with Jackson Flyers Association at Fort Jackson near my home. It's an RC club but those guys are mostly fascinated with our antics. We share the runway and take turns with a very friendly relaxed co-existence. There is a CL circle at the club but one side of it is 4 feet higher than the other side. Better for fooling around than Stunting. I also am a member of the Huntersville gang and some of us fly at Watt Moore's home in Chester, SC about half way between H'ville and Columbia.
The link to my JFA club is at the bottom of my posts. And you can look up me and Wayne Robinson in the Stunthangar members list. He doesn't post but his contact info is there. Either of us can introduce you to the Jackson Flyers or the MCLS gang.

I'm in Lake Wylie, SC just south of Charlotte, NC and I fly at the Huntersville Field. Looks like Easley is about the same distance from Columbia as it is from the Huntervilles area, give or take a few miles. I fly when the weather is good, just let me know if you want to meet at the Huntesville Field for some flying!

Charleston SC here. I am not an active C/L modeler. But I was once a very active balsa kit builder and C/L flyer. I am still interested in control line models because it is where I got my start. Here is my timeline
Grew up in Atlanta/Clarkston/Stone Mtn GA in the 60's
Built and flew balsa C/L kits -1965 (Flight Streak, Ringmaster, Voodoo)
Built and flew balsa R/C kits - 1977 (Senior Falcon, P51D Mustang, Super Sportster)
Flying Real Flight RF-8 Simulator - 2020
(Yak, S-bach, Edge, B25 Mitchell)
Building Vintage Dirty Birty -2021
Would like to connect with some local control liners. Balsa modeling is a life-long hobby for me

Hi, Lee.
Whereabouts in Charleston are you?
I'm around 90 minutes from downtown, in Manning, SC, 2 miles off I-95, exit 115.
I live on a private airpark and my flying field is right across the taxiway from my house.
Our airpark website is <palmettoairplantation.com>
You can google map my house - 1036 Jonte Drive, Manning, SC 29102.
Come on over and fly with us!

Easley isn't far from the Canton, Ga contests.

This looks like it’s an old thread but if someone knows of a place to fly control line in the upstate of South Carolina, please share. I know about Huntersville NC and it’s a great facility but a long drive.
Have a great Christmas,
Bill
