Title: South Arkansas Stunt Championships
Post by: Norm Faith Jr. on October 31, 2010, 09:25:20 PM
It looks like there is a small front moving through our part of the country this Tuesday. This is going to make the weather a little "unseasonably cool." We had to do a little repair work on the asphalt pad, it looks like it won't cause a problem and the grass circle looks great. Bring a jacket for in the mornings...they (Weather Channel) are predicting plenty of sunshine. For more information on this coming weekend's contest...look in the Event Forum for the South Arkansas Stunt Championships Nov. 6-7th.

Be there tomorrow afternoon.  Other than temperature, looks like a nice weekend.

I want someone to stick a handle in my brother's hand (Dan) and make him fly Beginner.  He's capable, is going to drive out, and needs a diversion from that FF stuff.

Please?  Anyone?

Do like someone did to George Aldrich one time.  I didn't know it at the time that he could fly both ways.  At least this is what I was told.  The person had a Nobler that they wanted George to fly.  They asked him to carry the handle to the center of the circle.  Plane was fueled and ready.  He was asked to check neutral.  While he was bending over to lay handle down, the engine was started.  The plane was launched as soon as they knew George seen what had been done.  Maybe the purpretator will see this and fill in the whole story. Hi Clayton.  Your brother did right proud, he won second place and has proven to be as weird as ya'll.... #^ y1 LL~ LL~ H^^

Opps, thought he had first, but it is second place.  But he's still as strange as you... LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~

Strange?  In what way?

He's a nice guy.  Well respected at the few FF contests we've been to.  Saw him take 8 trophies in 9 events entered out on the eastern shore of MD back in 02 or 03.  He won some 1/2 A event with a Wen Mac at the Nats this year.  How bizarre is that?

We flew together in 98.  I had a Goldberg Shoestring with a relatively new condition McCoy 19 on it.  And a 4 1/2 ounce chicken hopper tank.  It was light and flew pretty good.  After 10-12 minutes, he hollered that he didn't recall it lasting this long.  Stan Hogarth(sp?) had taken us to some old landfill site.

He called and asked it I had a spare Tower 40 to build a Twister around.  He must have enjoyed hisself.

Glad everyone connected.  A good hobby will do that.  My other brother is into latex inflatable farm animal dolls.  Don't know if there is a forum for that.

Clayton,

I flew quite a bit of free flight with Dan several years back.  When I saw him at our stunt contest Saturday morning I couldn't believe it!  I'm so glad you pushed him to come down and fly with us.  He did great and it was a joy to fly with him again.  He told me the story of the very long Shoestring flight.  He is a hoot man.   I can't wait til next time.

 H^^

Well, I'd best chime in here.
I had a fine time last Saturday. I didn't go there expecting to fly. I like to watch.
It was great to see my buddies Jason and Terry. It has been a while.
Thanks to Mike for loaning me a plane. When I mentioned the possibilty of breaking it, he just said he had more! Obviously, he' s a closet FFer.

I am gathering stuff and looking for time to get a plane built.

Hey Dan,  if you don't crash once in a while,  you aren't not trying hard enough.  Besides the owner of the plane is probably like me,  Too many planes not being flown.  Glad you had a good time.   H^^
