A week ago, I was browsing through Ebay and came across someone selling old Model Builder Magazines. There it was, the August 1993 issue, the same issue I lost when going through an adjustment in my marital status. I treasured that issue as it contained my first published design. It was based on the Twister wing, with some Fancher inspired adjustments, and a full fuselage.
It arrived in the mail, and since most of you never saw this model, I've included scans from the magazine.
I'm thinking of redrawing the plans into the Cad format. It was a good plane that flew well for me through Intermediate and into Advanced class. I hand drew the first set of plans in March of 1991. The blue plane in front is the first Twister Sister. The red profile in back is the Fancherized Twister I built back in 1988.
The red one with the wing tips was the second one I built. I added the wingtips to increase the wing area as I found I needed to lower the wing loading after moving to Utah. They were powered with K&B .28's through OS .40fps.
Here it is almost 20 years later, and I'm thinking about maybe building another one.
