Well we dropped Ryan off a collage this weekend. Something sure feels like it is missing here at the house. :'(
He did tell me that he found a church and a flying field close to the campus. y1

I guess I have that to look forward to in a few years
Keep yourself busy, and catch him on his holidays
-
Paul,
Now's your chance to practice. Get that new plane done and then surprise him with a inverted square eight.

Hey Paul.
Been there, done that. You get used to the kids being gone but the house never seems quite the same because you always miss them (and it's too quiet). I know Ryan will do well.

Paul,
I feel for you buddy, my oldest is my best friend. While we have a year to go, I can already understand. I am going to miss him.
I sent my youngest, my little boy, off to high school this morning. No little boys in the house anymore.
I will miss all the youth sports coaching, helping with homework, driving them places. Talking to the other parents.
When either of them is gone somewhere overnight, it is too quiet. Then I go out in the garage and start an engine...
Ryan is a good kid and only about 2hrs away right? He'll be home with an empty belly, empty pockets and a load of dirty laundry every couple of weeks.
I'll bet he misses you too.

Don't forget the empty gas tank!
Miss the kid, but the s_x is great!

Technology is great!
Just got off a video conference call with Ryan using a web cam. It was a little laggy but still good to see him.
He has a place to store a plane in his dorm room. He might take a Flite Streak back with him when he comes home for a visit. I need to put him a flite box together. Keep him on the handle.
Thanks guys

I never had any children go to higher education. In fact it seems I can't get rid of them. The youngest is the reason I now have a shop in the back yard. She is getting the basement. But, before you know it, it will be springtime and the end of the first year of school. The young people I grew up with that went to college while I stayed home and worked the farm, stated that they didn't time for anything, but, study and read. Have fun, DOC Holliday

Hi Paul,
It does get awful quiet and empty. I still miss mine and the last one left the house almost 10 years ago! At least they are not too far away now, and I have Grandkids to come over and look at TaTa's airplanes.......... going to get them flying before long!

I don't know the feeling yet and I'm not looking forward to it. I've got 4 more years till Ben is off to collage.
I can't believe my little boy is starting High School next week.
It's great that you two have the kind of relationship that you have.
Good idea about putting together a flight box of supplies for him, it'll keep you busy. Be sure to include a small bottle of CA.
I bet you end up seeing him more often than you think.
Send him an e-mail asking what he'd like to see in his own Flight Box. It'll be a nice way to stay connected to him.
-.015 x 60' lines (good all around size)
-Handle
-Battery
-Battery Clip
-Small bottle of fuel (not too much so he'll have to come home for more)
-Extra plugs
-Glove
-Rag
-Fuel syringe (from the local farm supply store)
-Line clips
-Clear packaging tape
-CA
-Screw drivers
-Pliers

Paul,
I did seem strange seeing you without your wingman. By all accounts thoug, Ryan is a good young man and you should be very proud of him.
Next time I'm in Memphis, make sure you have some ratty old clothes so you can fly too.
-
Chris,
I was thinking the same thing. Great minds think alike. :! I might be asking for folks to send me some C/L stickers to put on the box. Kind of spruce it up. y1
Zuriel,
I will be in that part of town for the next 30 days for work, so I will try and put a plane in the trunk of the car and maybe meet you guys on a late lunch hour or something. AP^
Ty,
He has already met a girl from NY, and is bringing home a load of wash this weekend. One thing about Ryan he does not ask for much $$$ cause he does not spend much. He knows we are going into the poor house just sending him to collage. LL~

When our last child went to College, I had to get Mama a toy Poodle for her to pester while I was at work.
The poodle was a cutie and didn't seem to mind being combed, clipped, etc.
