Was surfing the web and ran across this plane, but no info as to what it is.
At first I thought it had a big head on the engine, but see that it may just be a cowl.
Looks kind of cool.
Anyone?

So....
Does one award appearance points because it looks good, or because it has strongly definitive looks?
It certainly appears like someone put some thought into cooling, although somehow the look just doesn't have me jumping for joy.

It's definitely different but...
Just my opinion, but I've never cared for any of the "fish-mouth" type cowls.

Looks like a glow plug saver for inverted landings.Spiffy LL~

I hope the person that did this plane, or anybody that knows about it speaks up. I would imagine it is a way of keeping the head cool on the engine. The designer didn't make the fuse deep enough. I've had several kits in which the cowl wasn't deep enough to completely hide the engine.

Might be a helicopter engine?

Modified D'otavio Jerseyan?

I've always liked upright engine installations. A lot can be done to make them really cool looking. I don't care a lot for this treatment, but the concept is pretty cool. I like the canopy layout.

Looks like a modern rendition of a PDQ "Lion Tamer".

I believe the plane is one of Carter Fickes planes. It has an LA .46 for power and flies pretty good you should see his twin LA .46 stunter
