So here is the plane that we were planning on making a trip to Bulgaria with and what it looks like now. The plane currently weighs 22.5 ounces, and I'm happy with that. The stab and elevators are completed and weigh 2.5 ounces minus the control horn.
After these pictures were taken, we molded the wood for the fuselage, so that should come together fairly quickly.
Oh and I'm powering it with a Brett Buck RO-Jett 61

Hi PJ,
It was there, but when we went to go see where the tank would be, we had to grind most of it away. There will be more added into the engine bay of the fuselage when we begin working on it.

We got the wood out of the molds tonight and they came out pretty good. This is the easiest way we've gotten top and bottom blocks on. We didn't glue them in place but the formers are in. The only problem was the mold for the top block warped and we didn't know until I noticed the warp. So we cut off the plywood back and are going to gouge a straight one on the mold and try to re-wrap the wood to get the warp out.

Is this fom the RSM kit? Does the kit come with the warren-truss angled wing rib design? Looks good!

I generally don't use that sort of firewall because I slide the tank in from the front.

Hi John,
There are ribs in the RSM kit for the warren truss rib design, however, if you build it with Bob Hunts Lost-foam wing, we found the airfoil to be off of what templates he has. Once all the sheeting and such was in , the original airfoil we traced (the RSM airfoil) is pretty much the same as the template Bob has but with all the sheeting, cap strips etc. on it. When I head over during the weekend, I'll try and get a picture to show you the difference between the airfoils.
For this plane, since we're using a different type of take apart structure, the fuselage sides couldn't be used because they're designed for the one piece wing take apart system. Dave Fitzgerald also told me to add 1/4" to the length of the nose compared to what he's been building them at.

It's pretty much half and half. The wings are pretty much scratch built, and there are new fuselage and plywood doublers. Other than that, I believe almost everything else is from the kit.

Here's a couple pictures from yesterday. John, as promised I took a picture of the two airfoils drawn to show the difference between them. The longer one is the RSM airfoil and the shorter is Bob Hunt's lost foam template. I got both the flaps shaped, and we got some clear on the wings and stab and elevators.
