The Walker cup was won only once by a non "open" person, is that right?
I may be wrong but I doubt it.
I wouldn't take her to a dog fight even if she had a chance to win.

No.  The first three times it was awarded was to a Junior flyer, Davey Slagle.  Prior to about 1962 there was about even money on the award going to the Open or to one of the younger ages.  After Gerry Cipra won it in 1962(?) I was the next non-open flyer to win it in 1972.

It has been awarded to the Open Flyer every year since - with a couple close calls along the way...

Samuel will build his own model for next year so he can try to get in on the action. We weren't prepared this year but will be next time.  We had an amazing time in all the events we flew.

Just get him proficient enough to win the Cup before he discovers girls!

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Non Open Class Walker Cup National Stunt Champions:

46, 47, 48:  Davey Slagle, Jr.
51:  Don Ferguson, Sr
52:  George Aldrich, Sr
54:  Hill Hutchins, Sr
56:  Bill Cummings, Sr
58:  Arthur Pawloski, Sr
59:  Bill Werwage, Sr
62:  Gerry Cipra,  Jr
72:  Dennis Adamisin, Sr

As Dennis mentioned, there have been other challengers to the Open winner over the years.
