Snifin out of desperation
« on: July 02, 2007, 12:14:48 PM »
Well this week have been puttin finish on New Geskie Bear. This is a desperation attempt to finish out the season so can finish new Grinder. The old one survives practice and contests for three years before it was destroyed by a whirling dervish at Puyallup last week. It sure is good to be sniffin the stuff again. Just ask Shultzie. He was a super sniffer without a cape. But he has also survived the dreaded disease known as dope addiction for airplane dope. As of yet there is no cure for this and once addicted it's all over. I must remember to call Dave Royer for he is also an addict. There probably more but most won't admit it. They call it things like paint and stuff. Hopefully this project will be close to done by the middle of next week.

Leo, alas it appears either all the closet sniffers wont be drawn out or they too are having flashbacks. as for myself, I love the stuff, the smell that is, buy my addiction has turned hardcore, I now have succumbed to the fragrance of monokot, yes, I know you are aghast at the thought, but, well the evils of my ways have caught up to me and I succumbed. rest assured though, under that shiney mask of monokote there was indeed dope, as I silkspaned the fuse before hiding it under a covering of that plastic magic. I felt the need to hide my addiction, the worst part, now I am finishing the fuse on the vector and I have found myself caught up in the new miracle material, K-38, that devilish non shrinking, dry and sand good, simple stuff,, sigh,,

lest you be concerned for my well being, I have two I beam kits that will force me to face my fears, my addiction, and once again delve into the darkness of DOPE,, I fight against it for surely if I build and finish them I will want to fly them, and that , with my flying will surely lead to another build and foray into the world of dope,, sigh, alas, I fear threre is no hope,, n~ n~
For years the rat race had me going around in circles, Now I do it for fun!

Well Dave Royer showed up yesterday. He had to tell me that sure smells goooooood. He also was interested in what I was painting and also reported that all the fireworks junkies had mannaged to mess up our circle at Delta Park. This is an every year thing. Maybe one of these years they will catch the grass on fire ang they won't be able to do this anymore. Soooo Heeeere is what I haveeee been painting lately. HB~> DK^ f~

You don't think I would fly all thos stunts sober do you. No way. LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ n~ n~ n~ n~ n~ n~ n~ n~ HB~>

I have met Jerry and Allen Resinger and Roy DeCamera and George Aldrich and all the good guy's that were confused from the start and because of our infliction have never been sane enough to change direction. The lady next door came over while I was working on this plane and I think she really had a good time telling me I should not breath this stuff or I would be acting just like her. It seems That I perpatrated another person to like this stuff. You never know. S?P S?P S?P S?P S?P S?P S?P S?P S?P HB~>

Leo,

That is just gorgeous!  H^^

When do you plan to have the maiden flight?

I've been wanting to meet you one of these days, and would be more than willing to help with pit duty. Any day of the week is fine with me, as I'm retired.

BTW, Dick is sending me membership papers, so I'll get my club dues in to him as soon as the application arrives.

I've got a can of Brodak clear butyrate in the work room here at my office right now. I'm covering a Ringmaster Jr. and the temp & humidity are too high in my home shop to dope.

Am I going crazy, or are the lead outs coming out of the RIGHT wing-tip (as opposed to left) Are you flying around in circles backwards???

YES the leadouts do come out the right wingtip, despite our best efforts to correct Leo's misguided ways,, He insists we are the ones flying backwards. Alas I think the truth is this is how he avoids people wanting to "test fly" his great creations, that way preventing us from knowing he has an autopilot in there! S?P S?P LL~

Have I? You bet I have!  y1

My wife and three daughters subjected me to almost every beauty soap, perfume, shampoo, nail polish, hair spray, and deodorant made! My son even had a few smells to add to the medicine cabinet. Some of those chemicals smelled and looked a little like dope, but at hundreds of times the cost of the real thing!  ;D

All was well however, until they found out my Acetone was great nail polish remover! Man did that stuff disappear fast! Leaving the lid off the can (as they tended to do), didn't help any.  mw~

I have a little of that diesel fuel in my blood too. My first diesel was a frog from England. Boy was I impresed once I got it running, however I was never too impressed with the smell. UIt was a lot of fun tho. Dope is still the best.
