Anybody else dealing with the newest snow storm? Yesterday was pretty nice, got to 50 degrees, but we knew this storm was coming so had lots to do to prepare. Stores were crazy and that means traffic matched it! I knew I needed a new battery in my car, so fought the traffic and crowds to accomplish that, and realized I was over due for an oil change, so got that out of the way. It might be a month before I see my whole driveway again! I just took a turn at shoveling, and I'm looking at about a foot of dry, powdery snow, with drifts that covered my front porch and front door! I'll shovel some more tonight, and wait to finish until the snow plows come, whenever that is. Temps are dropping like a big stunter with a flame out on the the up side of the wingover! Supposed to hit -7 degrees over night and zero for a high tomorrow. It's not uncommon weather for us here in the St. Louis area, but we don't have enough to be "used to it." This kind of weather reminds me of the John Wayne movie, "Islands in the Sky." Once the Greenbay/Frisco game is over, I just may plug in the disc.
Stay warm and be careful out there!

I feel your pain, Dan - we in northwest Ohio are looking at about 10 inches right now with another 6 to 8 hours of snow storm settled in. Tuesday's high is to be a minus 7, that's right, a MINUS 7. Winds are picking up and we'll see gusts to as high as 40 mph if they're right, and the folks around here are quite amazingly accurate for the most part.
I've already run my snow blower more this year than the last two winters put together. Tomorrow I have my shop all set for a guitar repair and wingtip sanding and lower wing installation! I ain't goin' to the gym in the morning, I ain't goin' to NOWHERE!!!
Got plenty of coffee for the Kuerig, lotsa cookies, a whole library of good books I'll enjoy reading again, and another few thousand words to write in the current book project.
Leave the house? I don' need to leave no steenking house!! n1 n1 n1

we just drove back from a short Florida vacation today.
This morning we hit snow just south of Indy at 9am. the drive from Indy to Chicago was a killer, it took 2x as long. We were stopped on I80 for about 30 minutes due to trucks to being stuck.
Now home the high tomorrow will be -10F here in milwaukee?
Why did I comb back?

Gilroy High School, Gilroy California.
Saturday January Fourth.
70 degrees at around 13:00. No clouds and a 3-5 MPH breeze from the North-West.
I got in four flights with the rest of the South Bay Circle Jerks
I think God feels sorry for us because of the brain damaged, liberal beat-off morons that run this joke of a state.
So to make up for our lame assed leadership, he blesses us with awesome flying weather.
I'm curious as to how the poor folks from the Midwest to the East Coast feel about Global Warming right about now.

We had fog and heavy frost this morning. It was slippery as snot in the shady spots, even after the fog burned off and the big orange thing showed up again...maybe 3-4 days in a row. And youse guys tease us about our weather! LL~ Steve

Gusty winds to 25mph or more all day here, -17F right now and still dropping. That's making for a little over -40 wind chill as I type this. They're saying -25F or so by morning with the winds continuing and then a balmy "high" of -15F for Monday, if we're lucky.
Everyone, please, get out the Aqua-Net, go out in your yard, and start spraying.

Yes! Saturday was a great day to be a "Circle Jerk" and I should've worn shorts............Oh well, next time. Unless of course there's a football game on. y1

God also has a sense of humor. He ought to finish burning California to the ground this year. get your free flight models out, the thermals ought to be awesome.

Got about a foot of snow yesterday, then the temps dropped and the winds and snow plows came. Just came in from snow blowing the powdery drifts, and the 2.5 feet of snow pack at the bottom of the driveway from the plow.
Yesterday's high about 30, low at minus 15, high today minus 8.
Between bouts with the snow I am emulating the "Trible Plan", as I build/take pix/and write manuals for three more Electric Conversion kits for Brodak...

Well, yesterday I shoveled enough snow we we could go to Church. Temps were in the teens. This morning got up early to dig out the old Ford as I was scheduled for my last theropy session. Poor Ford turned over a little slow but started. Ran back in to get my coat on and gloves. Cleaned off most of the snow on the poor Ford and headed out. The temp gauge in the Ford showed -6F degrees. Anyway I plan on spending the rest of the day in the shop as no school for the kids. By the way, coldest temps for KC area in 20 years. Still have 3 inches of snow on top of the old Ford as I didn't drive fast enough to blow it off.

Tulsa broke a 100 year record low last night with a -2. Not much snow, about an inch just enough to make the roads icky with the salt they put down. Driving my old beater 4wd pick up to keep the salt off the other cars. Should be back to norml tomorrow with the temps going to the high 30's. I'm ready for spring..

. . . and here in Tucson we're uncomfortable because it's in the 30s in the morning, 60s in the afternoon. Looking around the rest of the country, I need to quit whining about that.

TrashCanistan is seeing allot of the same. FL SFC. Had 3" of snow a week ago. Another 4" is coming tonight. Were running out of "alcohol" (Island in the Sky reference)

Hey, Sarge, what's with the 'SFC'? Is that your new rank? If so, HOO-ah!

Only got about 10 inches but the winds drifted it allot around the house and truck. dug out slowly yesterday between home work sessions. Got up to -11 this AM and the old Chevy groaned to life rather then its normal leap.
Spent some time in the shop working on the Legacy, got the fuse started and am now engineering the attachments for the take apart (break down) system. Still haven't had a good all-nighter though I did spend a couple good long ones between Christmas and NY

SFC=surface. I'm a few years away from my first look at sergeant first class. That's if I'm not a "wobbly one" by then.
