Southwestern's Dallas - Some Pictures
« on: September 06, 2023, 09:58:39 PM »
Just a couple of shots of some of the planes during appearance judging.  We had not had any rain in a month and the temperatures by 10:00 every day have been approaching 100 - that would be the first round.  After noon about 103.  Circle temperature 120+.  So Sunday Morning we all get there to beat the heat and have absolutely beautiful weather and only 78 degrees.   A thunder storm parks itself a couple of miles north of us and just sits there for nearly two hours.  And it doesn't even have the decency to rain.  By the time we got started the winds were waking up and by the end of the 1st round they were blowing 10-15 and really turbulent.  Only one casualty.   Still, it was fun!

Love the color combination of the CAUDRON EXTREME!
Who is the owner of this plane?

Later,
Claudio.

The twin is Frank McMillan's electric. Has retracts too. Counter rotating props. Very COOL and he flew it very well.

I Think that would be Gaylord Elling's airplane.  He builds a very nice model and flies them very well also.

That Texan is a GREAT looking model, super clean looking design with a very tasteful paint scheme.  y1

The plane is John Bender's, I think it is a Buccaneer.  I do not remember what he has on it for power.  Covering material is silk.  Excellent finish and overall workmanship.
