With my new friend, Pat, coming over a few times now to work on his Colossus kit, it has made me get back to building and the enjoyment is returning. Sometimes all it takes is a friend to help us get through things. I have three major projects that have been waiting for far too long. A Hunt Mustang, a modified Time Machine, and the Airon. All are at least 75% done, with a few minor things left to be made and of course the finishing process on them.
A big THANKS to Pat, and those of you here who have stayed in contact.

Atta boy, coach! I've let the guitar building business push the planes to the side for two years now, then Donna shows up with breast cancer and now, after successful surgery, she's in the chemo series. So, like yourself, I'm trickling back slowly, but surely. Thee & me must challenge each other from time to time as to what we're working on! I'm starting to put the trim on the semi-scale Pawnee, am about ready for clear, and it's gonna be rough. However, the full scale Pawnee I had was rough, so I have an excuse! (Should I taint the underneath of the fuse a sick yellow to keep the scale approach accurate?) LL~ LL~

I had another great day with Pat coming over to build. He can build he is just no sure as to how these balsa airplane models should go together. LL~ LL~
Pat spent about 4 hours and we got a lot done. Enough that he can finish the wing at home on his glass bench. The Colossus is a "BIG" model. The fuselage sides are actually longer than a USA-1! The kit did not come with the optional removable LG so we decided to go with the gear that is there.
Great time!

I didn't realize that I had been there that long untill I was headed home and realized my wife would be headed for work! I got the spar, LE and TE jiged up, and the gear laced. I will be posting pics late, and starting the ribs. Time always flys when I vist Bill, we spend to much time talking about racing, racers, and old Fords! LL~

Brother Will,
I am impressed with your Pawnee and look forward to seeing it complete. I will add the software to this lap top so that I can download my pictures. My big computer is not working right now.
Thanks, Brother, for the kind words.

Makes me wish I had a "Pat" here in Tucson to kick me off top dead center. Been stuck way too long.
Good on ya Bill!

Yeah, it is fun when you have someone that you can help and they can help you. My Wife never really complained when I would go out three to four times a week to fly and then get home late because we had repairs to do.

Hi Randy,
For some time I had my oldest son to help me along. We built together and his stuff is still in my "shop". He has hit on some hard times personally (as sometimes happens to us all) and has to take care of himself first which leaves the models behind for now. It has been a good thing to meet Pat and have him come over to build. It really helps me to become excited again about getting something new built for myself! Hopefully my son will be able to come back to it soon, and that will only add icing to the cake.

Our Pawnee still has the the lingering smell of "Stam," (the civilian version of Agent Orange) do you want me to send you some scrapings? ;D
