Skyraiders Raider Roundup this weekend
« on: September 10, 2010, 02:47:17 PM »
Well, it's time to head to rural Chehalis, WA airport again for the Raider Roundup. It's a nice setup with lots of pavement and food and lodging nearby. The weather promises to be typical of the area for this time of year (in other words, no telling what we might get). At least tomorrow is supposed to be overcast and 68°. Sounds good to me. Sunday may be a bit more dicey, but it's never easy to tell.

I'm dragging my Ringmaster down for profile tomorrow. If I fly on Sunday, it will likely be the same plane since my PA plane is being re-worked.

Pete Peterson is planning on bringing his patched up Saturn.

Well sadly, try as I might, I was not able to avoid babysitting chores this weekend. LInda has to work, so that leaves me to watch Kyli, ( my grandaughter who is living with us for now) between that and being sort of tight financially, I cant make it. I was really hoping to!
Randy, make it good for us, Leo,, dont be stirrin up any trouble!
Hope I can see you guys in Salem,,

That's Leo's problem...he's had his head banged against that brick wall too many times. Brings the jerk right out in him.  D>K Steve

Doc...Last Sunday morning, I was greeting John Thompson and Bruce Hunt, when up comes Leo. John or Bruce asked Leo if he was flying. Leo said "Not until he quits judging" and points at me. I didn't, but wanted to tear his finger off. Later, he came up to the administration table while I was putting entrant's names on score sheets for the next round, and I ignored him. As far as I'm concerned he's only going to contests to be a prick. I was CD, and was thinking about throwing him off the site. I think the CD can do that, since he wasn't entering, and was being an ass.

I didn't save his posts on the Judging Clinic Forum that I deleted, but do have all the PM's that he sent before I set the PM system to "ignore" Leo. Anybody want to see them? He got pretty nasty. I didn't. I have put up with his sh't for long enough.   H^^ Steve

That is sad to hear.  I thought he was such a gentleman at VSC the year he was there.  I have one former competitor that has not ben flying for some time after the bashing he tried to give me.  Never mentioned a name, but he/she thought every one on the forum knew who he/she was.  Hopefully personal problems aen't getting to him.   H^^

But wait!  I've found Leo to be just like me.  We are much alike.  Therefore, saying bad things about Leo is like saying the same to me.  We're both really good guys, believe me.

Steve, Leo, I like both you guys,, I really wish you could either resolve this OFFLINE, or just agree to stay away from each other.  You both know that nothing good will come from bashing each other, especially on here. There isnt room for this crap. How about you guys just let it go please? so all your friends can relax and go back to having fun around you...

Really too bad...
I do have to agree that openly criticizing a stunt judge is a very little minded thing to do.
Judging is difficult and thankless...being openly criticized by a competitor makes it much worse.
As a judge I would welcome constructive criticism in private from any flier and would take to heart, and weigh his opinions seriously.  However doing it in public is almost unforgivable and really demands a public apology if not a poke in the nose (uuhhh, I really don't do that anymore, but there was a time...).
Just my two cents as an interested bystander and fellow judge.

 Yep, simple as that.

Now, back to model airplanes. Where's the pics? ;D

This subject really hurts!  I know only too well how words can destroy a hobby relationship.  I doubt that any ammount of saying "I*'m Sorry" can help heal this situation.  Perhaps a good look at age, personallity, health ( such as Low Blood Sugar attacks) could solve this sad situation.  It hasn't helped me with the unfortunate circumstances involved with my loosing a good control line friend several years ago in a meet in Pasco.  To the end of my flying life I will never get over that day.  Steve/Leo seek some help together.  One of these days one of you will die and then mistakes can never be undone.
