That was my first impression, but I am not well versed on all the UK planes. They had a lot of similar looking profiles looking back through all the older UK stuff.. I agree on the Peacemaker, though.

I would still like for Doc to fill us in on the *important* things like *price*............

We had a whole bunch of kits in the 50's and 60's by Keil Kraft and Frog that were variations on the Peacemaker! but that looks like a Peacemaker.

Some people have a sharp eye. Yes it is the "Peacemaker" George designed for the British contengent. 2.5 diesel for power. I got the winning bid at GBP 8.75 plus 3.75 for shipping. Ebay and Paypal converted the price to US 13.51 plus shipping. It is a print wood kit with full size plans. They have more kits on the UK Ebay that are similar in make up. All I need to do is supply all the strip wood and sheeting. Comes in a package for the two different kits, I now have, a little over 1 inch deep, by about 4 inches wide and almost 15 inches long for each one. They were well wrapped with folded full size plans. I like the kits so well I plan on getting the rest as time goes on.

The Peacemaker is very popular in England and the P.A.W. 2.5 engine is the engine of choice for it. That is a .15 glow engine for those who are metric challenged.

The virtue of short kits in the international trade is postage. Under 24 inches long things can go for International First Class. Longer than that is another way which costs a lot more.

The PAW 2.5cc is a diesel engine! Anyway the Peacemaker was specifically designed for an Oliver Tiger 2.5 cc engine (another diesel). The Aeromodeller magazine commisioned George to design a combat plane and sent him an Oliver Tiger. George was mighty impressed by the Oliver, think it gave him food for thought about those smelly British aberrations!

All of what may be true, I do not know, I was referring to TODAY in England. The Peacemaker still enjoy's a great amount of popularity and the P.A.W. 2.5 is the engine CURRENTLY favored by those who fly it.

Doc, a Rivers 2.5 over this side of the Atlantic is worth a fortune

. I thought the original was powered by an Oliver Tiger? They are re-making the Oliver over here, I have one, beautifully made. A good PAW will haul it around fine though.

HI Guys,

I just got an ebay set of plans and the magazine article from a gentleman in the UK for the full fuselage Peacemaker. Strange way of printing the plans! They are full size, printed on both sides, and a *pull out* from the magazine! I am going to make single side copies on regular printing paper, these are on VERY thin paper.

Nothing strange about the plans in magazines! A very cheap way of getting an expensive plan! I have the same magazine and plan. For some reason the full fuselage 'stunt' Peacemaker is no way as good as the profile version. Have built both, all Oliver Tiger powered, I am not the only person that thinks the profile is better!
Larry, at this years Nats, I saw more OT powered Peacemakers than PAW powered ones, maybe your observation was true, but I am not sure these days. Lots of new OTs being used now!

Well it has been a while, but have gotten some more done on it. Covered entirely with Poly-span(poly-tissue at CLC). The diesel and Fox Schnuerle fit same mounting holes. Have 8 coats of clear thinned 50+% Brodak. Today put three coats talc and clear. Will let it hang a bit before sanding again. Weight right now 11.2 oz. Found picture of my diesel that will hoprfully power it.

Nice work!

Just how does the Peacemaker compare, size wise to the Flite Streak? I can't remember the dimensions off the top of my head.

I do, and now I am going to try the SLC. Silk, silkspan, Jap tissue, polyspan, SLC, and SLC with some sort of paper over it. I haven't used Monocoat, or similar irons, in 15 years or so, and of course it has gone up in price with people saying it doesn't handle as good as the original. Either way, I will have plenty of covering options!

Keep up the nice work, and let us know how it flies!

Both the Model Airplane News plans and the Top Flight kit ws is 46 +/- 1/4".

My ¢ worth. I will build the MAN plans this winter sometime and put a PAW 19 in it.

Thats the full fuselage version, not the one pictured here. Top Flite never offered a profile Peaceamaker.

For me, there is always a bit of a conundrum with the Brit. P'mkr. Std. balsa is 36". GMA decided to crop the spars, and add the tips to restore 36" span. I wonder why? If you're not bothered about slavish authenticity and leave the spars at 36" and add the tips you get free increased wing area and manoeverability. Used to fly them like this with a basic box fus., tank in wing, as my std. combat model. 13oz. with Miles Contest 349 engine.

Wouldn't be authentic if I encreased the wingspan from the 36 inches. Besides it is going to be a fun plane. Some thing in the order of the Sweet Sweep in which I do all the maneuvers with out level laps after the RW. Then I only have about 6 laps after the clover.
