Good Ringmaster wing and aft fuse, SkyRay 35 front end and a set of ARF FliteStreak tail feathers.
Balances about 25% back and has room for a tank- looks like a good beater to me.

You completely defy ethics when you combine a Ringmaster with a Flight Streak. LL~ LL~ LL~

You're right, Bill. It demeans the the Flite Streak. Besides, that appears to be one of those newfangled engines.
-
It's just wrong.

Howard,
It aint a sista'mommy or unca'daddy of the other 'un.

I built one of those once. They wouldn't let me in to the country club when they found out. They said anyone that would would built such a Frankenstein would surely soil the pool.

So, Bill...
Howz it fly?
Good - if mongrelized - heritage. If all the numbers and proportions work together, you got a fun airplane.
ENJOY!
And if it doesn't work out: - learn from it...
Over to you for a flight report...
-
But, uh, how, um, don't...I'm speechless.

A couple more hours of scrounging and the wing is repaired and covered. Even found the original single wheel gear from the SkyRay.
Some fillets and a tailwheel, black rattle can on the fuse plus trim tape on the wing root and it's ready to test fly.

Not unlike some of the stuff Gordan Delaney comes up with such as his Heinz 57 and his Thunder Chicken.
What was that old Johnny Cash song about a car made of part Ford, chevy, Plymouth, Cadillac?? H^^ D>K LL~ LL~
Nope to the question above. He wanted a Cadddy and built it one piece at a time. Oices that he lifted from the job. So he had a decade long car.
-
Well you did it there is no turnin back now, but why did you have to make it the same color. That's cold man. LL~ LL~ LL~

Kidding aside, good idea. There is no use wasting perfectly good airplane parts when appearance isn't an issue. When I repair a crash, it is repaired not rebuilt. There is a big difference. Good luck.
-
Billy G!!! it's OK- you can have Black and Red back- I'm out of red film now, in fact the bottom outboard wing is transparent red /orange.
So other than this one, and my Ring Jr, and my other Ringmaster in Phoenix, and my Baby Ringmaster I don't have any more black / red Ringmasters.
But my ARF Oriental is pretty much black and red too!

I like it BIll; These guys just do not recognize genius when they see it. It is just the way it is with great artists. It is not till many years later that the masses realize how wrong they were. Hang in there
-
So this is what they mean by genitic diversity.... ;D

Wait til Garf sees this if he hasn't already. For those that go to the "Hangarflying proboards" will know what I mean. But, if it works and you are having fun, who cares. H^^

There are times when salvaging "crash junk" is appropriate ...
Back in my early teen years, I was having some success flying combat - but couldn't do an outside loop from level flight to save my life. No problem with lazy eights, inverted, anything else, but there was just something instinctively wrong about pointing an airplane at the ground after spending precious time and money to get it in the air. The harder I tried to conquer that phobia, the bigger the pile of wrecked airplanes grew.
I finally assessed that pile one day, grabbed a Midwest Omega with an obliterated outboard wing, cut it off at the end of the center section planking and attached the outboard wing of a Sterling Ringmaster which had pretty much been totally destroyed except for that wing panel.
Then off to the flying field with that piece of scraps (and absolutely no emotional investment - it was just plain ugly).
Did outside loops all day, never could figure out what the problem was. That accumulation of junk served me very, very well.

What was that old Johnny Cash song about a car made of part Ford, chevy, Plymouth, Cadillac??
It WAS Johnny Cash. It was a song about a guy who worked at the Cadillac factory and kept stealing parts until he built a complete car.
BTW that car does or did exist and was displayed at the Johnny Cash museum.

Got it. I not only have a "Bassmaster", Ringmaster wing, basswood copy of a ME-109 fuselage, but a "Tomstreak", Tomtom wing, Flight Streak fuselage. Then there is the "Garstormer", scratch built fuselage, Trixter Barnstormer wing. I have 3 new scratch built fuselages waiting to be grafted to salvaged wings from my scrap pile.

Reminds me of my late Franken Ship. n~
Left over crashed pieces of a Ringmaster wing, Magician fuse and parts of a Nobler tail feathers.
Magoblaster? Ringnocian?
BTW, it was one of the worst flying planes I ever had. :X
-
Had to be the pilot as the plane looks flyable. LL~ LL~ LL~ But, I have seen some creations that flew and some that didn't y1. Nothing like a wing and tail feathers on a regular floor broom. 8) H^^

Harley Man I see the whole problem!... long nose, short tail, and one of dem there "Red Haid" motors on it. But ya gotta have fun- and $5 woth of glue, film, epoxy is worth $25 in enjoyment!
-
knowing Bill this was made out of panic and he will probably fly it in a panic. Bill is a walking hotel builder who flys whatever he can come up with and he just enjoys doing it despite the crisizem. Hes a genious in Pilots clothing. So let the games begin. HB~> HB~> HB~> HB~> S?P H^^

I just planted Fronkensteen 2. It will soon become Fronkensteen 3 when I graft a new fuselage to it. It was a spectacular crash. Inverted pancake under full power. The fuselage exploded. the engine section rolled 15'.

Yup, if you still have it and it's worth the effort shorten the nose and I bet it flies allot better.

Ahh Leo- me ..Panic? And do what- raise my arm over my head to try and avoid an inverted impact with the ground-NEVER!
Maybe I need to borrow one of your planes to practice inverted- that way I'll be turing in the right direction while the plane is upside down.....
Or just get busy and build a Rebel from your plans - should only take me 3-4 years at my current rate of building progress.
Still working on my boss for a trip to Portland in time for the Regionals- but no dice so far.
