When I was building the Teosawki I needed a way of getting all the bits of the wing in line and I found this cheap measuring tool on Ebay. To make it usable I machined up a bit of 3/8" ply very square, added a couple of turned posts for the unit to clip on and then setting up the tip ribs of the wing were easy. Here are some pictures of the tool - I think that it cost about $12.

Very nice. I have the Hangar 9 Angle Pro incidence meter. It contains a similar digital inclinometer. The inclinometer can be removed from the rig and used separately to check control surface throws and also to check if other components are level. However, I think this item has been discontinued as I have not been able to find another.
Robart has an incidence meter but no digital inclinometer with it. It uses a needle and a scale and a bubble level.

I use a free IPhone app, "Handy Level" similarly. Of course practical only if you already "need" a smart phone. I like the ply holder plate. Thanks for showing a great idea.

Good idea! My digital angle gauge is magnetic for use with machine tools, so it's too heavy for modelling use without some similar adaptor plate arrangement. Will give it a go.
