Title: Sig Super Chipmunk tail size and shape
Post by: David M Johnson on March 28, 2015, 04:39:45 AM
Hello all the experts.  I am in the need of some assistance.  In my recent move  the Sig Chipmunk I have suffered damage to the tail and was thrown out (not by me)  the plane was given to me from a estate disposal with no aft fuse or tail section and I reconstructed one using borrowed plans.  Now I find myself in a different city with no plans and no idea the exact or close facsimile of one so a replacement can be made. Can any of you post the dimensions or a photo with a ruler even.  I did try to order plans from Sig only to discover the no longer offer parts or plans that they use to have on their site.

The stabilzer is 8 3/4 from the centerline to the end so the stab is 17 1/2" wide. I can email you a scan of it. C L F L Y E R @ mediacombb.net

Do yourself a favour and increase the span of the stab. I think mine is around 19 or 20" and it still looks small!

The stab is fine the vertical fin is what I'm looking for.  If you can email that would be great.
