I was grazing the Sig website and they are selling Twister kits for $50.00. In fact, it looked like all the C/L kits were priced lower.
That's a decent price on the Twister.

Being a regular customer buying direct from Sig I can tell you these are their everyday prices. I've purchased a Sky Ray and a Twister and am pleased with both kits.

Indeed it is still a great bargain. What they appear to be doing is selling at the wholesale jobber rates off of their site. When compared to the rising costs of manufacturing and not to forget high fuel costs it's good to see that they have only increased this kits price a couple of bucks. I've experienced fast shipping with fair prices so I am a fan of buying direct from Sig. The LHS's and teenage staff such as Hobby People look at me funny when I ask for CL kits and products not even fathoming the concept of CL. It's simply much easier to purchase Sig kits online and at such fair prices including shipping I don't see why not to.

I've purchased wing kits and just ribs from Sig, over many years.
Even ribs that aren't offered in rib kits. I don't think Sig sells, what you would call, rib kits?
I'm betting on the Twister wing to be a WINNER. Which I used slightly modified actually, on The LOSER.
Aroven wing design? I hope so.

Sig has sold wing kits since biblical times. Brodak offers rib sets for all kits. Many wings of better performance than Twister wings. Most lazer cut. Sig pieces are still stamped. A Tanager wing, for instance, will Stunt more weight than the Sig option. The Tanager wing is a non taper, non sweep wing. Simple construction. Tho it uses leading edge sheeting. A Cardinal or Vector rib set (or other Brodak Competition Design) can be the beginning of a serious Stunt war wagon. An economical and convenient start for an original bird.

Well you folks do know that SIG is now owned by Great Planes for some time now. I am rather surprised that it Sig is still operating as a separate company. Good pricing for CL kits may well be a sign. There could be a time line on the contract with Sig's people already on staff at the buy-out.
Since retail for a Ringmaster when I was a high-school kid ( a looonnnngggg time ago %^@ ) was $2.95 I don't think $50 is a bargain for something so simple as such a profile.

Please show your source for your information. You really need to get your facts in order, statements like that are unsupported and bordering on slander.
Sig is owned by David Martin ( the old Hobby lobby RC guy), and Herb Rizzo and Ron Petterec both modelers from the Chicago area.
Good luck to them and I hope they will be independent for some time.

Compare Sig fuel prices to others. I don't know how they do it, but they have some of the best fuel at the lowest prices. I have been using it for years and it works great and is consistent in quality.

I don't think $50 is a bargain for something so simple as such a profile.
There is only one possible answer to any declaration like this: Hoss, if you're smart enough to make money hand over fist selling CL profiles for $50 a pop you shouldn't be wasting your time typing, you should be out there getting your production line together. It's a free country, it's not like SIG has an exclusive patent from the king to manufacture control line airplane kits.

What was ugly? We have only a few good suppliers now, and implying they are out of business is not responsible. A irresponsible statement hurts the supplier.

Thanks much Mr. Glenn however if I am that misinformed then I definitely need a kick in the behinder. Sig was well under the gun of "Great Planes" in the vicinity of the time G.P. took out ACE RC. I was definitely under the impression that SIG belonged to G.P. with a secondary Board in the middle. If that was changed, prevented, then I am/was in gross error. Hooray for SIG as they definitely do not fit under G.P.'s domain.
So Thanks to those that know better for sharing their information. I will try to do better however in ther past 5 years or so all this trade stuff has definitely escaped my need to keep up.

Who appointed you the "Miss Manners" of all forums? Aside from your incessant postings on others threads what do you actually do with C/L modeling?

Hello Bill. I do whatever I want in our hobby. I build free flight rubber, control line and anything else I want. My "incessant" posting is no more or less than anyone else's. Are we now under some form of censurship because you don't like how much I ask questions or comment on someone else's work? I can assure you, I am never derogatory about others building style or type of construction. Not like some here. And as to being "Miss Manners", perhaps we do need someone that will step up. I would much prefer that the proper people (the moderators) do it, but they seem to be doing other things and allow bullying to go on. So its up to the membership to say something, don't you think? Or do you prefer that we are just mean spirited with each other?

Great Planes didn't buy ACE R/C, it was the parent company of Thunder Tiger and moved to Nevada, and that was LONG before SIG was sold originally by Hazel and Maxey. I just can't remember the year, but it's been a while. Tom Runge, Paul Holsten and Steve Gooseman were all great guys and we had a lot of fun at their R/C soaring contest in Higgensville, MO. As a matter of fact, that is where I first met a couple of guys named Mike Gretz and Mike Pratt!!

The best thing any owner(s) of Sig could do is not to "fix" anything. Sig has always been one of my favorite suppliers. I hope they always continue offering their fine kits without going totally ARF like so many other companies. Adding new products is typically nice to see, but don't ever forget about the heritage of Sig and everything they have provided for modelers over their history, including one of the most enjoyable Control Line contests in the country.

Searching for something else I found this 4 year old thread
I have recently purchased from Sig Mfg... both the Sky Ray $60 and Twister $54 and thought to my self; these fairly good flyers and pretty good kits were very low priced
I sure do wish they would resurrect the Primary Force ARF

I believe they also have made a run of kits replicating the Lancer combat design that was sold by Berkeley
