I just acquired a New Sig P-51(foam winged). Anyone ever build/fly one of these beauts?  ???

Looks very simple to build..... :!

If this is the foam wing one, I have one about half built, fuse built and wings sheeted, however after getting the wings sheeted, I started to look at it, and read several places that if not very very carefull it builds heavy, the wing is not cored. I also read if you core the wing and be carefull about weight its a good flyer. FWIW.
I put mine on the shelf for now, I like it but , well I didnt have a way to core the wing panels out so that kind of stalled the project for the time being.

  If it is a "Sig" and a "Foam Wing" I believe it's designer is on board. "Mike Gretz" are you lurkin out there anywhere?I had one and with an OS.35 Stunt ( thats right the FOX MAN used an OS) it was a very good flier. I had another in the box, but it will be on its way to a new home this morning, the water is low enough to get out now. LOL "Mike will tell you what you want to know ( I hope).

Yep, its the one we're talkin bout. Was wondering about a target weight and power suggestions. I think maybe I can core the wing and get it a little lighter without loosing too much rigidity.

You need to talk to Jim lee.
He knows how to make one really fly well.
The kit tends to build heavy,especially with the plastic parts. (how do I know?) n1

The Sig Mustang is a nice flying airplane, but it needs a little bit of help. 
Do not use the plastic top and scoop.  Mold or form balsa for the top.  Use a sheet of 3/16 for the bottom (smooth the transition a bit and it will bend) then build a box to replicate a scoop.  Add ply false ribs for the gear blocks.  use a suspended BC mount instead of the ply plate!
The wing MUST be cored to save weight...    Todd and I stretched the fuse a bit to lengthen the tail moment and made the stab/ elev a bit bigger.
Weight needs to be in the 39 - 41 oz range...   A decent Fox 35 will be quite nice....
Arlie Preszler did a piece in Stunt News many years ago about the Sig Mustang, which is where we got most of our tricks...   They were using them in WAM competition with Veco 19's....

I got one about 2/3 built. Used Scott Smith triple cored wings 'cause I screwed up the stock ones. Lengthened the tail moment by 1", but stock size stab/elev.. Threw away all plastic except the canopy. Suspended 4" bellcrank. Plywood half ribs for the wing gear. Modern engine crutch. Will use a Brodak 40.
