Hi Chris,
I talked with Jack on a few occasions about the FW-190. It "has a lot of Airon in it" according to Jack. I checked my rib templates and it is identical to the Airon but just a touch longer. Jim flys his with an OS 35S, IIRC, and it flys great.
As to the wing area, I am guessing just shy of 550. (

) I have had plans to build one for several years, but have balked at the cowl. It won't be hard to make it out of balsa (I can't find a child's cooking pot that size! LOL!!), it will just take time!
I measured a canopy that Bill Sawyer makes and it looks like it will work just right for the FW-190, it is what I plan on using. I will probably power mine with an Aero Tiger 36.
