I was up at Oshkosh last night for an event.

EAA is making a big push to introduce model building through their young eagles program.  They build SIG Kadets and work with an AMA club to fly them.

One of the people involved in discussions with the FAA from the EAA side is former Junior Control Line Stunt champion Sean Elliott.
He is EAA's Vice President of Advocacy and Safety.

I trust EAA in their lobbying effort much more so than the AMA.

Robert "Hoot" Gibson is an AMA Ambassador, Shuttle Astronaut, retired Navy Captain, a lifetime modeler and more.
Question: Is AMA using Hoot, a great asset, as part of their government interface team??

Why would they, that would make sense.  All you have to do is read the last couple of AMA magazines to see why.

Agreed, I thought the same thing when I saw the news on their site. Just figures too, the EAA has a much better handle on promoting and preserving Model Aviation than your AMA.
