"Perhaps I am not seeing the big picture here but why would you need a tip weight box that weighs less than the needed tip weight? I have put the "plywood" box in every ship I have built and none have ever ended up empty. Now if we are talking one that is position adjustable, I can see that.

I have a couple of airplanes that have empty tip weight boxes, and weight taped or mounted to the inboard wing. When I build a wing I don't do the "heavier ribs to the outboard wing" thing. I try to build the model, or modify and existing airplane new to me, to be balanced laterally.
