I got some SIG nitrate, can I use Brodak thinner?  If not what should I use?

This is too easy. You should (of course) use Sig Thinner. ~>
This of course is even easier if you already have some. I bought a gallon during one of my visits to Sig for their annual CL contest.

3608S can't be beat for Sig, Randolph, (maybe not the Brodak Randolph, don't know about it as I've yet to use it) Cooper, and most lacquers rescued from spray cans.  I also use it for nitro-celulous lacquers - all brands.

I agree.  I use it in everything, and contrary to the fearful, I have not had a problem with it for over 15 years.  The planes way back built then still show no ill effects.  It even thins the 2 part urethane clears (per Sparky's instructions!).
