One of Don's "Dauntless" SBD3 Warbirds.  (Need help on who the builder is.) Don placed 1st in
advanced in Baton Rouge with his Navy-blue Dauntless. RO owns that one now and it is a magnificent Stunt ship with an LA 46/Phelps prop up front.

I agree Dennis the P 38 is awesome. I think Doc Holliday built the B 25 but it could of been a Brodak one Pet Klepsc  designed.  Great idea to get Dons airplanes seen. I have flown six of his designs. All of flew a very acceptable pattern. He had a nack for making them look very scale, but still fly very well. I have a Chippy also but pictures are to big to load. I think the next one for me may be the Spitfire. I am not greedy but really want one of each. 🙂🙂🙂

Let me fly it at Eldorado.  He told me over the phone and the T6 overheard the conversation.  I believe the plane simply decided it wasn’t gonna let itself be destroyed by me and took it’s life on it’s own terms at Baton Rouge a month before I was going to fly it.

       My Hutchinson Skyraider plans show a solid sheet rudder and elevator. Is it worth the effort to make them built up? Will I need the weight back there? My engine choices are an Enya 45, OS 46LA and a honkin' Thunder Tiger 42, all RC conversions. The Tiger 42 is a plain bearing and the Enya 6002 is a ball bearing. I don't have the weights of the engines.

      Aeroshell T-6 at the St Louis Broken Arrow, several years ago.  ST51 for power.  Went with a bigger motor for the added weight in the nose.   Planning on building Don's F4F, and have a bit of an oddball motor planned for it

The 3 color camo one posted on Dale Gleason's post (Hi Dale!) was built by me when I lived in Gallup NM. I bult it for Jim Snelson who was preparing to kit the design. It was built from a prototype of his short kit prior to full production. I believe he sold a few of these kits before CLC closed up shop. Power was a 40 FP provided by Jim. I flew it twice in Tucson. It flew great right off the board and there is no doubt in my military mind that with a little trimming it would have been competitive in profile stunt.

Really enjoying the photos & specs! Doc, did you use .25s on the B-25?  I like it!  Kind of a personal favorite as it was another terrific North American Aviation bird, and I've had the chance to tour the shop of a warbird owner/restorer here who regularly flies one.

Anyone have a source for laser-cut parts?  Hopefully Walt can provide some?

Here's a shot of Don's Dauntless "in the bones". It was built by a friend who has since passed away.

Those holes in the flaps "simulate" the dive brakes of the Dauntless. They are covered over with clear m'kote or equivalent and really standout when in flight. Just a cool little add-on.

The slot in the nose allows for adjusting the tank's location relative to the spraybar for fine tuning the engine run.

Looks to be a very good building job,

No they are .25s , can’t remember if Fox or OS.  One of them got him a trip to the emergency room on test flight day.

   That is the speed circle at our flying field, Buder Park. I think the top rail is 8 or 10 feet high, Been there since about 1962

Okay, finally feeling like doing something now as long as I don't push.  Pulled the B-25 0ff the hook, dust and all.   The pilot view pic is a little dark.  The power is two Fox .25's with stock mufflers. The props are Master Airscrew composite 9-6 two blade.   Have not tried any others as this set works great for me.  Use .018 cable 60 foot long handle to eyelet.   Don't ask the weight as it hasn't pulled me out of the circle yet and stays solid up high.  Don't know lap times as I set the engines at 9800 rpm.  Need a volunteer to fly for me>

Not sure about that.  However the front engine quit first,  The back engine gets all of it's cooling from the front.   That's why the back engine slowed down and finally quit.   Didn't plan it that way but it was cool looking.

Don designed it as a favor for me because I have the full scale one it is painted like. It is a typical Don Warbird looks very scale but still will fly well. That one has a LA 46 and flys good enough to win some Profile contest around the country. I will say it again , just build them as Don designed.
