St 35 or 29?
« on: March 10, 2012, 11:23:51 AM »
  Got lucky today @ a swap meet, picked up what I believe is a ST35. The dealer thought so as well. The case is missing the size marking in the"V". I did find "B29/8" under one of the mounting lugs.  Can some one idenify this for me?

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve you cannot identify it by that mark, even some ST 46s had the 29 under them
can you post a picture?

The G-21 series all used same type case. .29/.35/.40/.46. Is it BB ? I assume it must be.

  Loolking the case over i found where someone had engraved  35 and 240g. Would assume this is displacement and weight. Does anyone know the dimensions of the bore and stroke for the 35 and 29?

Is the piston baffled or flat? Is the piston lapped or ringed? How many rings?

displacement = bore * bore * stroke * pi/4.

Or

displacement = bore2 * stroke * 0.785 (I'm not sure if there's any official approximation for pi; I'm just going out to three decimal places here).

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Haven't opened it up yet, although the box has the itailan word for lapped. was hoping for the bore dimension before I did.
