Title: Shots from Dayton, Ohio in the late 70's
Post by: Airacobra on September 18, 2007, 10:53:18 AM
Just a few shots from the Dayton Contests. Right around 1978. See how many planes you can identify. Sorry about the quality of photos, the scan wasn't the best.

I recognize Jack Sheek's Care, Wynn Paul's Pampawagon and an Avanti.

Randy in the last shot, you will see Dennis Adamisin with the TriStar. He has his back to the camera. I thiunk the plane you are seeing is Fred Tellier's Snowbird. I have another shot of it I will have to post. Also in that picture you will see a picture of Bob McDonald's Aquilla, Rollie McDonalds plane, the light blue one, Kenny Stevens light blue Akromaster, wynn Pauls Pampawagon. There are a couple of planes I am not familiar with.

In the first picture, the guy standing next to Wynn is Randy Hancock, also from Lexington, KY.
Great photos!
Thanks for sharing!

Yea, I didin't see Dennis in the background at first. And I thought it was the Aquila, but wasn't sure enough  to say.

That has to be Fred Tellier's Snowbird.  He always put the Canadian maple leaf on the tail.  Fred doesn't fly CL anymore but has become one of the worlds better indoor flyers.

C'mon Dennis, don't be so hard on yourself. I have more pix and I will work on scanning them in. Alan, that is indeed Fred's airplane, I have a better shot that I will try and post on Wednesday. C'mon guys add some of your pictures as well. Seeing these older birds inspires me to get busy on soemthing.
