My experience with Rustoleum is that if you let it cure long enough to be fuel proof then it's also Rustoleum-proof. I got seriously poor adhesion on the one plane that I painted white then left for a few weeks and then painted trim.
I suspect you'll be just fine if you scuff it up before painting, though.
(If you paint trim 48 hours after painting base, just mask, paint, and get the masking tape off while the trim is still tacky. I've painted two planes this way and had no trouble -- the third plane I waited too long and I should have masked, scuffed, and painted. I haven't tried scuffing when the surface is only 48 hours old -- I'd go lightly until I was sure I wouldn't just ball everything up.)
