I have a small room with lots of stuff so I have to keep it as organized as possible. I'll split the pix so as not to exceed forum limits.

Nothing completed so far recently other than a P40ARF which is on a ping pong table in another part of the basement. Four of my originals from the early '70s are hanging from rafters in the other half of the basement. The plane on the bench is a Coyote.

This is the main
mess building bench.

That looks satisfactory for a one bench shop. As you approach master modeler standards you will find you must have more than one workbench, and of course each one should be about like the one you show. My shop has 5. When I cannot find the same tool for 3 building days in a row, I clean one bench. So each one gets it about twice a year.

Brad and I go way back to when he was still in high school, he will get it....

He means that is the way my shop has allways looked i like to call a crontroled mess lol . I meat Bob when i was 16 Bob and LLoyd got me flying combat so i built a lot of combat planes i didnt worry much about how they looked. hey Bob whats your shop look like you should see Lloyds looks alot like mine lol.

I cropped my messy shop down to just whats being worked on....

This is just my work bench. My shop is a 2-car garage, finished with wall/ceiling panelling and carpet. My cars live outside, and not in the garage. On the bench, my Palmer Venus is being re-finished. Look carefully, you will see a couple of O&R 60 engines and an Orwick 64 sitting there.

I don't know, Mike. I think they were referring to the small parts cabinets and stuff hanging on pegboard. As I said before, when I was building the shop, it is small. About 88 square feet. Everything has to be out of the way, hence the stuff on walls and a shelf. Even the notch in the wall is filled with piano wire, carbon rods and tubing.I have a wall to wall bench on one end holding a scroll saw, small chop saw, milling machine and a band saw and a small space heater. My building bench is 20"X 60" and on wheels, so I can move it around as needed. I had to move my drill press to the other end of the basement, near my lathe. I wish I had a larger area, but this was all I had available.

I've seen Bob's shop from the outside. It's the kind of shop I wanted, but the city and wife said no. Looks great Bob. H^^

Yes it is! Just finished another round of building. Kind a taking it easy on this one Been building it on & off for about 12 years now. The one in the closet will eventually become the USS Constitution. Haven't touched it in almost 10 years now.
