Shoestring Stunter By Bob Whitely

Would an LA46 be enough power for an RSM Shoestring Stunter By Bob Whitely? The RSM web page says "piped .46 to .60". My understanding is that the pipe is more about control that about more power.  I'm just an average builder so it's not likely to be less than average weight even with a minimal finish...

A .46VF with pipe would be a reasonable match. I wouldn't use a .46LA. How about a ST G.51 or ST .60bb? If you're shy about pipes, I was also, but they are shockingly easy to adjust and deal with, long lived and reliable.  H^^ Steve

Dave Pellerin had a Saito .72 in his RSM Shoestring. It weighed about 72+ oz. and didn't look "happy". Could have been the 10 oz. of tail weight?    :P Steve
