Shipping for Nobler ARF ?
« on: November 05, 2020, 02:09:18 PM »
Requesting suggestions on how to Ship a Top Flite Nobler ARF?....
For what it worth:
The best way that I found was as follows:
1. Double box .. The cost of the box is about $15.00
2. Ship by USPS {three or four days from AL to CA}  cost about $40.00 based on weight of Package
3. Insurance cost will increase the cost based on value assigned to the shipment.
Now we'll see what the condition is when the plane arrives & is opened. H^^

Go to your local PO and get "Priority Mail" boxes (about three) 12.5 X 3.125 X 15.375. Take them apart at the glue joint (A nylon prop works great for this job) and fold them to fit your kit box. Tape the joints together and you are good to go.

Should be sent for under $30 I'd guess. I've done several this way and it works fine.

Cheers, Jerry

You can get a sheet of cardboard from a box seller then cut and fold to fit the Nobler box.
I would put some stiff boards along the top and bottom or some gorillas will fold the thing in half.
Happened to me on a RSM MoBest kit and a Brodak profile P-40.
Put some pink or blue wall insulation all around.
My experience with UPS packing is terrible.....don't do it!!

Are you asking about how to construct/obtain a box, or about shipping prices for a boxed item?  If you want shipping price estimates, you'd need info:

1. Dimension of box
2. Weight of box
3. From zip
4. To zip

best,

Peter
