« on: April 02, 2015, 02:30:30 PM »
I won't name the company I ordered 3 separate orders from one company all done within a day . And was charged shipping on all three orders no biggie  .  All 3 orders came in the same package today  is this the norm. . I did the the same with a differnt company a few days ago and they put the orders in the same package . But only charged me shipping on one order ?

I would call them and ask for a credit on two of the shipping charges!  Probably just a paper error.

Jim,

Three separate orders means three sets of paperwork, three orders to pick and then they all have to be packed.  Those are the fixed costs of doing business.  They did save a little by consolidating the orders into one package for shipping.  As Randy said there is no harm in asking for a bit of credit to your account to be used towards your next order.  If it's a reputable company they shouldn't have a problem with that.

Why couldn't they refund the 2 extra charges? If it is a hassle with there webstore setup, just add a note and a check to the invoice.

Put an order in to a major mail order company that has $1.99 shipping for small parts. Ordered one 13 inch prop, two 9 inch props and one 2oz fuel tank. Order came in a box that was 20x7x9 by UPS. Don't think they made any additional profit on that shipment.

"odd" size product usually trigger insane charges because it breaks dimension limits of package size.  I have encountered crazy prices on rod, "arrow" shaft, and music wire  before.  Frequently calling and talking to a person fixes the price.

Added hassle is sometimes not worth the price difference when there is another business without the shipping calculator being broken.
