Title: Sharpie marker on monokote..... how to fuel proof?

So if I use a Sharpie pen to write something on monokote, I think I heard that you can spray Krylon clear over it to fuel proof so the Sharpie will not wipe off?


Anyone?

I don't think Krylon will work as it is not fuel proof, Lustercoat is made to match monocoat and is fuel proof. The Lustercoat clear topcoat should work just fine. Some clear spray polyurethanes may work as well, but I understand that they can yellow with time. I have no experience with the polyurethanes as topcoats. Hope this helps.

My experience with spraying LusterKote over Sharpie writing is that the Kote spray partially dissolves the marker ink or at best, causes it to bleed.

I've used clear MonoKote over marker writing with fair results.  Hard to keep from getting air bubbles in the clear.  Don't use trim Solve to activate the adhesive.  It takes the ink right off the MonoKote.
