I know some of you have met Brazilian CLPA legend Bene Rodriguez.
This is the Shark 45/ST 60 he'll be flying at the NATs.
Bene is not registered here, so if you wanna get in touch, his email

Beautiful Shark.
Just wondering, has anyone other than Lew made one and called it a "Humbler"?

My guess would be Charlie Reeves. I have flown my Shark 45 at 3 Nats now (the plan is to retire it as it's long in the tooth now).

Yup Charlie has one and Jim Lynch has been working on one. Just had too many other projects taking priority.

Hi Marcus,
I met Bene at the 2004 World Champs, also, but I seriously doubt he would remember. Tell Bene that this Shark looks lovely!

You guys will have a chance to say hi yourselves...
Soon, at the NATs, Bene will enter classic with the Shark...

That is without question, the most beautiful Shark I have ever seen. Why can't I build stuff like that? Oh yeah....no talent! LL~ H^^

Verry nice - enjoyed meeting you all at VSC about 3 or 4 years ago. Makes my Shark 35 look like a minnow! 8)

One of my favorite designs. I will not be at the Nats Marcus but pass my compliments along for a beautiful job on a classic design.

I shall Mike... H^^

Looks great! That's probably a good thing too...because I'm not sure how many people would be willing to lend him a plane this year. At least not after seeing him wind-fly Buddy Wieder’s immaculate Caprice a couple extra maneuvers after the fuel ran out the last time I saw Bene fly Classic in Muncie.
Poor Buddy looked like he was about to faint. LL~ S?P

Not excessive at all. Ever see Bob Whitely fly his Hawker Hunter? Its esentially a Shark 45. I have built two Jetco versions and powered them with ST.51's (current model) and that is an excellant combination, and a bit easier to get a fuel tank in that way. In my memory there have been several in the past 15 years or so that I have seen that have been ST.60 powered. I built my first Shark in 1994, flew the dickens out of it, and built another one that I call Jaws-2 in 2005, and both had a yellow, black and red paint scheme that Chris McMillin helped me come up with. I'm not on my computer, and I don't know how to do the photo thing anyway, so does anybody else got a pic of my Shark45 they can post?
Type at you later,

Funny...
He's never mentioned that...
Anything else I should be aware of?
It's going to be a lot of fun when he tells me and whoever is listening what he did with no engine, considering the owner of the ship was watching and having a heart attack... LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~

Spoke to Bene earlier and he wanted me to tell you guys that it is Thomas Case's Shark 45. "I'm just helping him trimming the Shark with the new ST 60", he said.

Thanks Randy, it wasnt lost on some.
Dan : I'm sure the ST60 will be fine and a great combination.
