Title: Shark 402 is RTF...
Post by: wwwarbird on March 26, 2010, 10:18:25 PM
Well folks, it's just a "crappy profile" but my "sorta modified" Shark 402 is done and ready to fly. ;D

The "High Zoot" spec sheet includes:

 OS.35-S power
 Jim Lee .280 venturi
 Hobby Fasteners muffler
 3-1/2 ounce Brodak tank
 Sig "Fazer" landing gear
Custom ribs from Pat Johnston (to allow adding a sheeted L/E and capstrips while maintaining the original airfoil outline and thickness)
 Polyspan covering from Tom Morris
Brodak dope (my first paint job using a compressor and automotive type detail gun)
Finished RTF weight as shown is 33.6 ounces

If anyone is interested in more info and pics, see my other two recent posts, "Shark 402 project" and "Shark 402 progress" right here on the Open Forum"  H^^

I'm curious where the plane balances with the OS 35-S, nose tripler and tail modifications.  We are all looking forward to a flight report.  Beautiful plane. Very nice job on a first attempt with compressor and auto detail gun. y1  Also, the Shark 402 has the ideal airfoil for a flapless stunter, IMHO.

If that is a crappy profile, I want to see one of your built up ships.  That is stupendous finsh and layout.   #^ #^ #^ Of course with all the finish you had to put a heavy engine in the nose. LL~ LL~ LL~ Waiting to hear a flight report.  If it doesn't fly to your satisfaction, send it to  me. <=  Really tho that is one gorgeous airplane and I like it. H^^
