A first for me....I was flying my FUN 51 today and in the middle of a vertical 8 my engine suddenly screamed and quit and I saw my fuel tank flying off in a different direction.  Tank was rubber banded on and I shudda checked the state of the bands since the plane has not been flown in a couple of months.  Crashed but not bad. Oh well!

Way to go Phil,  I too have times when I don't check things and catch heck when my son does.  Had a split fuel line I couldn't see.  The boy could see it when he put pressure on the tank.  Hope your plane is still flyable.  DOC Holliday

That saying never worked with my Mom.. She would always come back with "People make sh** happen, deal with it".   mw~
