Server performance
« on: June 23, 2015, 06:49:00 AM »
With the size of the forum growing at a exponential rate I have had to add more resources. The question is do you see a improvement? If not please explain. We have added another drive and another processor. So in essence we have doubled in size once again. The other alternative is to cull the information and start pruning threads. We should be good for a few years as far as space goes. We had a 100 gig HD and it was 89% full and after splitting we have 57% on the main drive and 32% ON THE SECOND DRIVE IN BACK UPS. It seems to be working fine but I need to know on your end. Thanks for the info.

Robert, so far things are working great, thanks for freely providing these forums without charge. Yes, performance is definitely improved. Before, message preview was either not there or took forever. I'd post, then edit my post if need be. It now works and pops up almost immediately. I've noticed less delays in navigating.

I haven't seen much of a problem with regular posts in a long time. What has been getting hung up at times is the result of a search. In the last day or so it seems to have gotten somewhat better, with none of the lengthy apparent hanging processes.

Robert,

Seems to be quite a bit faster from my perspective.  I had attributed it to a computer upgrade at my end but for whatever reason it's working good.

Does this mean it's donation time again... LL~ LL~ LL~

Seems to be a bit faster here...thanks.  Agree about possibly culling the "me too" comments.  Total waste of space.
