Sepulveda Basin Training session (So.Cal)
« on: August 05, 2017, 06:22:54 PM »
The Valley Circle Burners held a training session this morning for raw beginners. All of them successfully flew!  ;D #^

The event was set up by Ron and Helena (who did the cooking, yumm!!!). I blush to admit I don't know their last name. They did bring their two children who both did their first flights, as did Helena.

Not all the planes survived.  :-\ :'(     The "Blue Streak" .15 size Flite Streak of Al Hieger's and his Lightning Streak will need a bit of work (To quote John Candy: "they can rub that out").  LL~

The Knights of the Round Circle ET-1 trainers were used, and they all returned after great landings (by definition, when the plane can be flown again).  The wind came up, and I need to think upon design changes to tolerate higher wind conditions for inexperienced pilots. Until the wind arrived, all the flights were quite smooth, but when the breeze arrived, the model blew in and came in on the lines, not good. But, being designed as it is, a few rubber bands heals all problems.

I didn't keep track of all the flights and flyers, since there was a great picnic lunch that grabbed my attention. BBQ Chicken, outstanding beans and potato salad, followed by Cherry Rhubarb pie. Don't you wish you had shown up?

Hopefully Al Hieger will chime in with the details, as he does track all that good information.  I just design and fly!  D>K

Definitely a good time for all! (well, maybe not so much for Al).
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!
