It’s finished at last! The first issue of Stunt News under “new” management is now up and ready for download and viewing and/or printing in full color on the PAMPA website. The long delay was unavoidable, but I’m quite sure you’ll find the results and the finished product to be worth the wait.
I want to thank a few very dedicated people who made this possible. First on my list is a thanks to our President, Bill Rich, who had faith in my ability to take on this chore and find all the right people to make it happen. Next up for thanks is Liz Helms who was “on call” for the past several weeks to perform all sorts of amazing publishing feats at the most unbelievable hours. My eternal gratitude goes out to Liz.
Liz is the Executive Editor of Model Aviation magazine and is a very gifted publications person across the board. Her layout and Photoshop skills are amazing, and she is incredibly easy to work with. We’ve been buddies for the past seven years during my tenure as the Aeromodeling Editor of Model Aviation magazine for the AMA, and now we get to enjoy working together again. She’s the best!
Thanks also are in order for the many who pounded the keyboard to turn out the many fine articles in this issue. We were very short on material at the start, and without the help of the authors and columnists who came to the rescue, this would be a pamphlet, not a newsletter/magazine.
And finally, thanks to all of you PAMPA members who cut us the necessary slack to get this job done without being impatient about a deadline that was impossible to meet. The next issue will catch up a bunch and then we should be right back on schedule by the start of the new year.
PAMPA members, this is your publication. I hope you are proud of it. I know that the staff is. Without your input, we can’t make this happen each issue. Please get involved and write something for publication in Stunt News, or at least tell us what types of articles and columns you want to see. We’ll do our level best to accommodate you.
PAMPA members can go to the PAMPA website (
www.control-line.org) and see the newsletter now in its downloadable, full-color form.
This first issue of the new Stunt News is going to be released to the general modeling public for download on the PAMPA website on Sunday, October 4, 2008. This is a one-time thing. If you like what you see and want more, please consider joining PAMPA.
The paper version of the newsletter is going to the printer now, so it will be a couple of weeks at least in coming to your mailbox.
We apologize for the delay in getting this latest edition to you, but we think the wait was worth it.
Your friend in Stunt – Bob Hunt
