Sukhoi Plans
« on: October 19, 2006, 11:25:58 AM »
I have always like the design of the Sukhoi.  Since Warbird posted the pictures of his awesome Sukhoi, I have been checking just about every source for plans that I can find looking for a Sukhoi.  This search has left me with blurred vision and some sleepless nights.

Does anyone know of an available plan for the Sukhoi?  If so, would you share it with me??

Thanks...Thomas

I have 2 versions of the Sukhoi plans....one is a SU-31....they other I am not sure on.   My friend over here has just finished his own design sukhoi.....see pic below..  He is now drawing plans and making these as RTF planes.....fully take apart etc.......

When I saw this one for the first time....I nearly died.....it is so close to scale it is not funny, and MAN does it fly nice.

HI,
Yes he is planning on exporting them....this was his "Rough and ready" version that he put together as a prototype.

The new models will be fully take apart....2 piece wings, tail and fin removable etc.

Owen ( the guy pictured) is also working on adding more scale items like the cowl vents etc..

Current pic shows model that is 58oz, he thinks he can get them to 56 or less...powered by retro discovery 60 (but this can be altered if you have a motor in mind) I am not sure on the span....but is 60+"

the thing with this is it sits on scale gear too.....so looks very impressive on the tarmac.......as I said....I nearly died when I saw it....and he RUSHED IT.......

i can get more info after the weekend if you would like more

Hello my friends:
I am sending a picture of my SU-26, if you like to see the pictures of another construction of SU-26 (or Cy-26), goes to Fernando site       www.freewebs.com/voocircular      . I use in both models the same airfol of SV-11 and the fuse I reduced a plan of Carl Goldberg SU-26 (R/C 1.20) to a F2B size. The last, is in molded balsa wood.

If anybody is interested in a profile Sukhoi, the Heartbeat Models kit plans may be of interest. I have a kit and the plans, but I'm not making copies of the plans to sell, or selling the kit.

I understand that in Australia, you can buy a set of plans and a set of laser cut ribs for this design...a response to demand. Demand caused by the design (*a profile*) winning the Aussie NATS twice, with an OS .40FP. I suspect that you can find the source for plans and ribs on the VicStunt website, someplace.

Meanwhile, if anybody knows Dave Trible's contact info, it would be nice to preserve his designs by publishing them in SN and plans via PAMPA Services.  It's either that, or watch eB*y.  %^ Steve

As Steve stated in the above post you can get the profile Sukhoi plans from Peter White via the Vicstunt website.
I found the laser cut rib sets are available from Bristunt.

I don't yet know how to post a link but you can get there by typing these addresses into your favourite search engine.

OK All, I will be seeing Owen this weekend coming and will get firm prices etc of him. Alos specs and more pics for those that are interested.

I can tell you all now that these will not be cheap....they are crafted by one man, hand cut, molded balsa fuse etc... they take Owen quite some time todo, but I can assure you that these are BEAUTIFUL Models......much like the Yatsenko RTF planes that sell for $1500 US......  I will keep you all posted however on these

Hi Wynn,

Thank you for the help on getting info for us on your friends beautiful Sukhoi. Please ask him if he would be interested in selling a set of plans (or a short kit)  for his "Take-apart" Sukhoi.

If he is going to be making these himself, by hand, there will be a long wait for each ARF. It would be nice to have the plans, and or a kit available too.  .... TIA :-)

I dont see it being a HUGE wait.....he can make one complete in a month or less.... I cant see that many people ordering them.  He has started on 2 currently. so if you are interested, I can tell him to hold one for you.

I am sure molded parts and cowls etc (short kits) can be done.........I have one of the first ones that he is making.....just because I love the look of it so much...and BOY do they fly.....
