I see the Dave Brown Lite Flite wheels, 2.5" weigh .5 oz each.

Thay are made of foam, so do they hold up? To spongy?

In my opinion they are the best wheels on the market. The tire portion does not come off the axle unlike many of the other brands. I would always order the treaded design. If you are looking for a narrow wheel to fit inside wheel pants they are available in 1-3/4, 2 & 2-1/4" sizes. The standard width wheel come in 1-1/2 through 6" sizes.

Wide for grass, narrow for pavement. I like the slicks for either grass or pavement. Good stuff, they bounce much less than some (Great Planes/Hobbico) products, and relatively affordable, considering they're 'made in USA'.  H^^ Steve

I ordered 2.5" wheels for the P-40.

Flew it with the 2.25" wheels it came with off cut grass, so the 2.5" isn't a serious improvment, but will look  better.

I basically agree with what was said above.  However I would mention that with big airplanes on asphalt (like I fly here in Tucson), they do wear out pretty fast!  If they're in wheel pants make them replaceable!
Personally I prefer the DuBro Lite Wheels.  They last a lot longer (they are a little bit heavier).

If they wear out, it's because I'm dragging the model sideways to slow/stop it at the best place for my pit guy to pick it up. I really need to figure out a good adjustable braking system that will work with wheel trousers...if only I was a retired Engineer, and not a retired Machinist. I'm thinking  of a micro-screw adjustment scheme. Any ideas, Randy? My ex-Whittle "Eagle" uses these for axles on a Winship CF LG. Top of the page...the screw that mounts these is about a 4-40...at least, it is now. Top of the page! I like 'um... All the rest are gawdawful heavy!  y1 Steve

I can say I really like the wheels I got from Stunthanger Hobbies. The aluminum rim wheels are awesome. I ordered the 2.5" jobs then turned the tires down to about 2". Sort of a big wheel, low profile tire look.
