Seeking quality photos and other materials for Control Line World magazine

As you know, we are currently working on the premiere issue
of Control Line World, a quarterly magazine, see announcement elsewhere.

Now, wouldn't you like to see YOUR high quality model airplane photo
on the cover of CL World? Of course you would!

Please email your quality JPG (large file is just fine) or other graphic
format. The image needs to be SHARP. Color level and contrast good.
I can crop and resize, and touch up photos a bit, but the better material
I have to start with, the better.

Your photo needs identifying information, e.g. your name and email,
subject information, and permission to use it in CL World (perhaps
not for cover as well). So your submission cannot be a copyrighted
photo..

Yes, CL World is about Stunt. But it is also about various other facets
of CONTROL LINE, so it will be nice to try to represent them in photos
and articles.

Looking forward to hearing from you! (Also, send in your tips, articles,

Did I mention? I'm particularly interested in articles/tips/photos

How will we know when the premier issue is available and how can we get our hands on it?

The premiere issue (mostly a "taste") will be available at the Brodak Fly-In as well as being
mailed to Brodak customers free of charge. The first "real" issue will be dated
September 2006, and appear quarterly. If the magazine succeeds, it will probably
progress to bimonthly.

Larry,
I had to go render a couple photos to post here to give you an example of the pretty girl pictures.
These were taken at the Toledo Model Expo. The models drew quite a bit of attention to the vendors booths they were at.
Also Park Flyer Magazine and other modeling publications use the same format. So it isn't a really far fetched idea.

A quick update on CLW. Thanks to the tireless efforts of a couple of major spark
plugs (Chip Smith and Tim Ehlen) we are rocking and rolling on CLW. It appears
that we may have recruited our so-called "correspondents" (like a columnist or
editor or occasional contributor, perhaps a slightly looser definition - anyway they
get a free hat <just like I am expecting>) for most areas we are planning to
offer coverage to. I won't list any names yet, pending things getting a little firmer,
but you'll recognize many of them.

We have the domain name controllineworld.com secured and will soon start setting
it up for most online services and business associated with the magazine. We'll have
several special "email" addresses, like advertising@controllineworld.com and
subscriptions@controllineworld.com, and even editor@controllineworld.com
or even stunt@controllineworld.com. Well, you get the idea!

E-subscriptions will get a password which will give them access to a special area where
they can download at least two versions of each issue, in high or low resolution. The Premier
issue is special, free, and open access will be provided to it.

You'll be able to conduct subscription, advertising, and other business (e.g. purchase a
CLW hat, eventually) by credit card with a secure web page (the one used for Brodak
Manufacturing now) - for your convenience!

We will soon have posted PDFs which contain our complete submission guidelines,
advertising rates, and general information.

Although the Premier issue (really #0) is expected to be slightly smaller than our normal
quarterly issues (#1 on September 15, 2006; #2 on December 15, 2006; #3 on March 15, 2007
#4 on June 15, 2007) are expeted to be 80-100 pages. The Premier issue will provide everyone
a little "taste" and I think you will be surprised at the breadth of material CLW attracts.

We plan to produce a CD with ALL highest resolution PDFs on it at the end of each year, for
those who wish to start their "archive" collection, at a reasonable price.

Please bear with us, we are determined to make CLW one of your favorite magazines, which
you'll be proud to have on the coffee table with New Yorker, Scientific American, Field and
Stream, National Geographic, Guns and Ammo, Architectural Digest, whatever! ;->

Who all is involved with Control Line World?
Where is the money coming from? Who is the publisher? Editor? How did it get started? Who's behind it?

It looks liks a great idea and I'll certainly be wanting to get ahold of it and be a subscriber. So tell us please How did all this get going?

John Brodak is the Publisher and is paying the bills. John is responsible
for business matters, including subscriptions, advertising, printing,
and mailing. The remaining people working on the magazine are unpaid
volunteers. The magazine charges subscription and advertising fees,
which will ultimately pay its printing and distribution costs.

We're still putting together our masthead listing of people who are involved.

Thanks for the direct response and answer Larry. I thought I might get a run around.
I thought maybe John was the pocket in this enterprise. I mean who else? I see the future and it is chrome plated. Big things will come of this.
