Vector 40 thrust line.

I have an ARF that turns inside very well and outside very poorly. I have sealed the gaps and will test that today but I also suspect a thrust mis alignment. If anyone has the plans for the Vector 40 can you tell me where the thrust line at the tail is located? A measurement from the underside of the stab will be perfect so I can check up/down thrust.

My ARC Vectors are about 5 years old so I can't speak for the latest production but the stabilisers on mine are tapered—about 1/2" at the hinge line tapering to about 3/8" at the leading edge with the LE simply rounded.

The drawing for my die cut kit, on the other hand, shows an airfoiled stabiliser shaped from 1/2" balsa sheet.

I asked the question about stabiliser incidence some time ago because, if you lift the LE on my ARCs so that the top of the stabiliser is in contact with the filler block that closes the rear fuselage, stabiliser incidence >2° is possible—which is too much. The experienced/knowledgeable people here told me to use ~1° incidence—nothing like 2°.

I found the problem. I put the flaps in neutral and the elevator was off center. I opened the cut outs and removed the ball link from the elevator horn, hooked the link with a "U" shaped tool and twisted the link into position which popped the brass ball out. I popped the ball back in place, rechecked the neutrals and repeated the process a couple times before the elevator and flaps were in sync. I figured this out after I had shortened one line an inch. I then shortened the other line to match and installed equal length clips all around. The test flights yesterday were on the money. Equal turns in both directions, handle spacing equal from the handle center. I'm happy.
