Larry Richards BF-109 Kit

Anyone know what engine is intended for Larry Richards BF-109 profile kit?
33" span and 226" area.
Is this too big for a .061 NV?

 These Larry Richard's kits are very nicely done copies of the old Midwest 33" Warbird series. They were originally designed for .15 size engines, an LA or FP.15 would be perfect, it's a little too big for the Norvel.

What about a .09-.10?

Seems like it might depend on how heavy the kit builds out to. What is the area of that .15 Challenger that you like so much? I think 325.... 266 seems a lot smaller than some other 1.5 sized planes. But I'm a newbie, so just asking.

 A strong .09 like a Medallion or TD would probably work well too, and built really light a typical .10 might do the job. Not sure about the .10's though, I've never really ran any. I don't recall the Challenger .15 wing area off hand, I'll have to check and *update here. I do know the airfoil is a fair amount thicker on the Challenger.


 *the Challenger .15 wing is 320 square inches.

Put a decent .15 on it and you will be happy.

I sent Mr. Richards a PM to see if he'd ever heard of one of them working with less than a .15.
